American Fishing Vessel Rebuilding Project

For the past 7 months or so, Fishermen's Finest has been garnering support for a project to 'forever change the face of the American fishing vessel fleet.' We call this project the American Fishing Vessel Rebuilding Project.

Fishermen's Finest fishing vessels American No.1 & U.S. Intrepid are as good as it gets in the American Fishing Fleet.  That being said, the vessels are 33 years old this year (and meet all ABS and USCG ACSA standards). We are proud of our heritage and consider our vessels and crew to be the best in the industry.  With this in mind, we have decided to lead our sector (A.80 factory trawlers and GOA offshore sector), and hopefully other fleets in the USA with a proposal Senators Murray and Cantwell to provide economic terms to 'rebuild' our American fishing vessels with new, state of the art, safe, green, efficient fishing vessels built in local shipyards.

Please note, all risk and monies for this project would be paid by the vessels that choose to participate; this is not a hand out - it is a project to provide economic terms to help make the decision to build new vessels, providing millions of dollars of economic impact to the local economy, easier.

All the members of the Groundfish Forum have signed in support of this project.

Watch for more information to come; in the meantime, we encourage you to reach out to our politicians and encourage them to support the American Fishing Vessel Rebuilding Project [AFVRP].

Fishermen's Finest ~ a team of excellence ~ our name says it all.
