On National Maritime Day, we honor the thousands of dedicated merchant mariners who serve on United States vessels around the world.  During times of both peace and war, merchant mariners are always there — stepping up to transport equipment, troops, and goods across the globe to make our country safer and stronger

On Thursday, May 11th, Port of Seattle Commissioner Sam Cho was the featured guest at the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce business luncheon at the Heathman Hotel.

Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial Annual Dedication - May 7, 2023. Each year, on the first Sunday in May, the Seattle fishing community gathers in Fishermen’s Terminal to remember those that have gone before us. During our dedication, we acknowledge those that have had tiles installed (industry-related loss) or have been added to the Memorial Wall (lost at sea).

Good people are the key to our success. On Friday, April 28th, we celebrated Aleksandr Grishchuk, for 10 years of service aboard the American No.1 and America’s Finest. Ms. Park awarded him with an Omega Seamaster “James Bond” gift.

As Kirkland Chamber of Commerce CEO Samantha St. John exits the organization, we at Fishermen’s Finest would like to celebrate [some of] her past accomplishments and congratulate her on the next chapter of her career at the Port of Seattle.

The high-quality Flounder Fish Sandwich, available in the US and Canada, was introduced in 2021 and now comes in both Classic or Spicy varieties to satisfy every taste.

At Fishermen’s Finest, as is our custom to acknowledge the Chinese New Year, we’re going to focus on the Rabbit as a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in the Chinese culture. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.

The Kirkland Chamber of Commerce held its 87th Annual Awards Luncheon on December 8, 2022, at the Heathman Hotel. The event, sponsored by Evergreen Health, Lee Johnson Auto Family, Kathy Feek Art Consulting, The Port of Seattle, and Waste Management was in honor of those who have given back to our community.

On November 18th, at the Lumen Field Event Center, the Seattle Propeller Club held its annual Maritime Industry Economic Forecast Breakfast.

The Seattle Fishermen’s Memorial held its annual (although on hold since the pandemic) Benefit Dinner, Live Auction, and Online Auction on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Chinooks at Salmon Bay.

The Port of Seattle hosted a Maritime Career/Information Fair on Saturday, November 12th from 12-4 pm at the Duwamish River Community HUB in South Park. It was a great opportunity to connect residents from the Duwamish Valley with local employment opportunities and show them the types of jobs that exist in the Maritime industry

Fishermen’s Finest sponsored the October 2022 Propeller Club function at Old Stove in Ballard. At the event, General Manager, Kristian Uri addressed the crowd and brought them up to speed with the good work of CEO Helena Park and Fishermen’s Finest.
